You’re gonna love this! Listen to the whole thing.

I’ve never really “gotten” Bohemian Rhapsody, which I suppose is what’s so great about it. The lyrics are nonsense and full of meaning at the same time:

Scaramouche, Scaramouche, will you do the fandango?

Easy come, easy go

Will you let me go?

Bismillah, no!

We will not let you go.

Never knew what he was even saying here until today when I did five minutes worth of research.

So, Scaramouche is a boastful clown from Italian commedia de’ll arte (which I totally should have known, having a master’s degree in Drama and all).  While the line, “Scaramouche, Scarmouche, will you do the fandango?” could be interpreted as the singer asking the roguish character to pre-purchase tickets to the 7:45 PM showing of Meet the Fockers, Freddie’s more likely requesting that Scaramouche kick up his heels and perform a boisterous and flamenco-like couples dance for him.

As for “Bismillah” or “Basmala” - it’s an Arabic word that is a part of and refers to a recurring phrase from the Qur’an.
